Trouble creating internal volume

Hi

I am trying to model domestic MVHR ventilation using CFD. I am a CFD and cad relative novice (last used at university 15 years ago) so likely user error.

I started by modelling a few rooms, that went fine. But am now trying to model the whole house. I have imported my CAD, and am trying to create an internal volume. However, I am getting the error message:

“No flow volume could be extracted with the given setting. Please make sure to select a Seed face that is adjacent to the desired void region.”

I have managed to successfully create a volume before I added additional rooms (using the same design for inlets etc. I have tried a number of different seed faces to no avail.

Im guessing I have made a mistake in the cadding - but cant work out what.

Grateful for anyone that can point out my (hopefully simple) error.

I may have made a mistake in ensuring my cad is fully enclosed in the link above. However there is a second model where I fixed it where unfortunately I had the same issue.

Thanks

thanks its really helpful :grinning:

I suspected it was by bad CAD, so rebuilt the additional bits of the model.

Here is the latest version, that while a lot cleaner, still gets errors:

Perhaps, based on the first error message given, this documentation page will help:

Good idea, unfortunately I already read, and attempted to implement that.

The more I play, the more I suspect a gap or poor interference in my CAD model. The awkward bit is figuring out where!

Unsurprisingly it was poor CAD’ing.
