This week’s Project Spotlight is a sheet metal stamping process done by my colleague @rszoeke.
Two different meshes were created for the quarter symmetric stamp model, one with full tet-meshing and the other with mixed meshing with tet- and hex-cells. Initially the results were compared for the same contact parameters using the penalty contact method.
Further analysis was done on the mixed mesh using a Lagrangian contact solution. Elastic Support was used to prevent rigid body motions of the sheet metal after stamping.
