SimScalers,
we’ve just shipped a major platform update! Over the next couple of days we’ll continue to push more information about what’s available from now on, but to immediately the 2 most notable ones:
- New Layout: For months we did numerous user experience studies and interviews to improve the ease-of-use and clarity of the overall user interface layout. As the new navigation bar shows, there are many familiar elements (experienced SimScale users can see that the central simulation functionality is still grouped in Mesh Creator, Simulation Designer and the Post-processor). However what formerly was called Workspace was moved to the Dashboard that you can find on the right. We paid close attention to not only make things pretty but also fast to work with, so no additional clicks have been introduced to switch from one project to another.
- Public Projects: What we’ve started months ago as an experiment has now become a central part of SimScale: The “Public Projects” section. Months ago, we wanted to provide a couple of completed simulation projects that others can use to start learning simulation and SimScale. The library evolved into a heavily used resource which a vast majority of our users used for their simulation work. With this update now every SimScale user, not just the SimScale staff can contribute public projects that other users can leverage for the sim work.
As always - all these new things are only as good as they help you to become reliable simulation results faster. Let us know what you think and what could be improved to make your work easier!
More information about the other new features soon!
Best,
David
