Hello
I am trying to simulate the flow around a single blade in a small shrouded centrifugal pump. I attached a picture of the geometry and the link to the onshape CAD file and the Simscale project below. I am trying to do the simulation on a single blade (picture on the right).
However, I am unsure about how to define the boundary conditions.
Reading the documentation for the periodic boundary condition it mentions that it does not support the rotational periodic BC Is there a way to work around this? Would it be simpler to just include the full geometry?
Also, I am unsure about the difference between using rotating wall boundary conditions for the walls of the impeller blade and using an MRF (similar to this example: Fluid Flow Through Centrifugal Pump | Tutorial | Simscale), specifically if I only have one blade to worry about. Physically it seems like they both should do the same thing. Is there an advantage in using one over the other?
Thank you,
Arshia
