I am running a dynamic analysis on a quadcopter frame but I run into this error while running the simulation, which says Newton convergence could not be reached. I might have some issues with the meshing but I am not sure of the right meshing settings.
I cannot share the project since its a private project. I have created a dynamic impact analysis study where the quadcopter hits a concrete wall with a specified velocity.
Hi @f20210264,
It’s a bit tricky knowing exactly where the problem lies without having access to the simulation itself, so we can only provide general advice:
- You can follow our tutorial Crash Test of FSAE Impact Attenuator | Tutorial | SimScale for reference on this topic as it seems very similar to what your describing your project to be!
- The meshing needs to be coarser on the master surface and finer on the slave surface. In your case, the wall should be the master surface and the frame the slave surface
- Always make sure to add to your analysis only the relevant parts, excluding all the unnecessary details
- In regards to the general quality of the mesh check out these resources:
Does that help?
Best,
Igor
