Multi-region mesh error CFD

Hi, I am new to Simscale I am trying to simulate a data centre in CFD.

I keep getting an error saying ‘A multi-region mesh was assigned - this analysis-type requires a single-region mesh’

Please could someone help!

Hi Steffan,

I can see that you have multiple parts, some of then assigned to Advanced concepts.

Your model must contain only the Flow region and parts assigned to advanced concepts. No parts should be unassigned.

Please review that you have no extra parts, or that you did not miss an assignment on an Advanced concept.

Hi,

The only parts that are unassigned in my model it seems are the floor and the cooling unit (which is that square rectangle on the bottom).

I am thinking I have to assign them to perforated plate with a really small ratio?, is that right?

You must assign them or delete them.

I don’t know if assigning them to porous media would be okay, it is up to you to define your modeling strategy.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

I counted up to make sure that I assigned all the bodies in the geometry. Total was 361.

I have assigned all the parts and it still is saying ‘A multi-region mesh was assigned - this analysis-type requires a single-region mesh.’
