This project simulates a hockey arena. I decided, in order not to extend the computational time, to divide the arena in half.
At the bottom is the hockey rink which has a temperature of -4.5°C.
To try and see what results it gave me, I tried a simulation using a non-coarse mesh.
The simulation stops at 22% and gives me this error :
Are any of you able to help me?
My edge conditions are:
-people generating heat and humidity
-inlet air flow rate
-outlet air flow rate
-pressure outlet (to let out excess air that in reality is sent into these buildings to limit air from outside through the envelope)
-4.5°C ampostat track
-adiabatic envelope walls.
What am I doing wrong?

Hi @s289286,
Thanks for posting on the forum!
I’ll take a look at your project and get back to you in a few with what I find.
Best,
Igor
Hi again @s289286
Applying the workflow contained in these three resources:
It’s possible to see where exactly your simulation diverged. It seems to have been near to a face where there’s an outlet:
It’s a very slim outlet so it seems that the velocities near it are very high. I’d advise you to try and prolong that face and monitor the average of the variables in it using an area average result control.
Best,
Igor
As a quick note: I’ve just realized that there are also some really small faces that might be causing some of the issues as well:
Try setting the small feature suppression to 1e-3
Best,
Igor
