Hi SimScale Community!
We in the Support Team have noticed that some users are unsure about what to include in their forum posts to get quick and effective help. Let’s make the process smoother!
Here are three essential tips for crafting a successful forum post:
1. Describe Your Problem Clearly
Keep it concise! A brief overview of your project’s goal, setup, and the specific issue is usually sufficient. If more details are needed, we’ll ask for clarification. This helps us understand your situation quickly.
2. Share Your Project’s URL
SimScale’s project-sharing feature is a game-changer. Just copy the browser’s URL from any section of your project, and it will take us straight there.
- For example, if you’re experiencing meshing issues, share the URL while viewing the mesh, and we’ll see exactly what you see!
- Important: If your project is private (common for Academic users), ensure the “Share with Support” option is enabled. This allows the Support Team to access your project even if it’s not public (you can still post it’s URL).
3. Include Relevant Screenshots
Screenshots are invaluable. Capture error messages, meshing logs, or any other visual cues related to the problem. Sometimes, these alone are enough for us to provide guidance without even opening your project.
By following these steps, you’ll ensure faster and more efficient responses from our team and the community.
Hope this helps!
Cheers
Igor
