Fluid Starts to Weirdly Behave In Velocity Inlet

Hello Simscale Community,

I’m relatively new in CFD, so please forgive me if I am wrong.

I am trying to run a wind tunnel simulation over a model glider aircraft prototype, testing new airfoils for a wing. For past runs, it has worked perfectly.

However, this time, I have received weird results (shown below).

I have already tried to expand the flow region, but it has given me the same results.

Here is the link to the project, weird results are under “Extreme Selig” Incompressible Simulation.

Any Help would be appreciated,
Soapy

Hi @Soapydoggo thanks for posting on the forum

Welcome to the SimScale community :handshake:

I’m taking a look at your project now and get back later with my findings.

Best,
Igor

Hi @Soapydoggo, I wasn’t able to pinpoint exactly where the problem is due to the size of your mesh being way too high:

However, it seems that inspite the fineness the mesh’s quality still falls outside the desirable range:

The problem most likely lies in faces such as these of your original CAD model:

Removing them should make it possible for you to run a coarser mesh with better quality.

In order to check and improve your mesh’s quality, please take a look at the following resource:

Igor

Hi Igor,
Thanks for the reply, I’ll Try fixing the CAD Model and Re-Running it, and I’ll tell you the results,

Thanks,
