I wish to look at results in a certain range in my transient results, being able to specify the write times in simulation time via CSV would be very handy. For Example:
time (s)
0.5
1
1.5
2
2.001
2.002
2.003
…
2.010
This would allow analysis of a transient simulation after the flow has developed. For example vortex shedding over an aerofoil.

I just wanted to inform you that with the latest release this feature has been enabled for solid mechanics analysis types.
But I guess you are rather looking into using this feature for CFD right?

Yes unfortunately I was after in for CFD, mainly so I could just record after a certain point in a high resolution, this would save you storage space and me the painful download that followed 
I have recently found a few more cases where this would be handy including monitoring the timestep before divergence.
