Conjugate Heat Transfer Mesh Completed but not Visible

I’m working on my first attempt at a SimScale simulation. I was able to get my conjugate heat transfer model to mesh, but I can’t actually view the mesh results. The geometry is perfectly visible in 3D in my browser, but when I select the mesh in the tree, I get a quick glimpse of the shapes of my various components flashing by in a diagonal line, colored grey, before finally having a blank screen.

How can I view my mesh?

Hi @AHartman_QUEST, thanks for posting on the forum and welcome to the SimScale community :handshake:

As your mesh has a bery large cell count (22.5M), it will take a lot of time to be loaded by the viewer. Also, it’s very unlikely you’d be able to run a simulation with that large of a mesh on a Community account - for pricing, plans and features, please take a look here.

A workaround on the meantime is to maybe try running your simulation on our IBM solver instead, which is a little less sensitive to faults in CAD models.

Best,
Igor

Thanks for the quick response. I figured it was something related to the number of elements, but w/o being able to see the mesh I had no idea if I was too refined or not.

Assuming I want to keep the general shape of my assembly as a learning tool for doing conjugate heat transfer, short of guess-and-check, is there some way to know what features of the mesh are causing the most problems?

Hi @AHartman_QUEST,

I guess the mesh quality viewer would be a good option. Try taking a look at the following knowledge base article:
