EV Batteries - Power & Performance Optimized
Presented in collaboration with:
Watch this webinar where we explore the fast-moving world of electric vehicle battery design and optimization. You will be shown how to use cloud-native simulation software SimScale and Noesis Solutions, a trusted digital engineering transformation partner, to run simulations at specific points of a charging cycle of a battery.
We demonstrate how nvision, an AI-powered surrogate modeling tool by Noesis Solutions, is used to train the battery model and predict the temperature and heat transfer coefficient for additional points in the charging cycle, almost in real time. Combined, SimScale and Noesis Solutions, have the ability to evaluate battery performance and optimize its thermal, structural, charging, and power characteristics.
About Noesis Solutions & SimScale:
Noesis Solutions, a trusted digital engineering partner, has empowered customers to adopt a transformational strategy that resolves their toughest multi-disciplinary engineering challenges. nvision, an AI-powered surrogate modeling tool by Noesis Solutions, is now coupled with SimScale, a cloud-native engineering simulation software, capable of simulating many different designs in parallel and orders of magnitude faster than traditional desktop simulation tools.
Senior Application Engineer
With a background in Aeronautical/ Aerospace Engineering and a Master’s degree in Computational Engineering from Ruhr University Bochum, Ajit is a part of SimScale’s Application Engineering Team.
Product Owner – nvision
Ceyhun Sahin is the Product Owner of nvision at Noesis Solutions. Her expertise comes from 10+ years of research experience in experimental methods in fluid dynamics, with an academic background in turbomachinery. As the product owner, Ceyhun works in parallel with the customers to implement nvision, an AI-powered surrogate modeling tool by Noesis Solutions, to create AI models from their simulation data to gain insights into their product and predict its performance, almost in real-time. Ceyhun works with the development team to validate and update the company’s software products and supports sales and marketing with technical details of the projects.
“ITW is a world leader in plastic components for the automotive industry and we are successfully using SimScale in order to understand the insertion/holding force of our fasteners, and perform vibration and fatigue stress to our brackets and different components. Since I am not a dedicated FEA engineer, I need something fairly intuitive and fast that points me in the right direction and SimScale is perfect for this with a very well-designed interface. I get good results for quite complicated plastic parts that have a lot of deformation. Plus, if I run into trouble, I can always rely on the very helpful and proactive SimScale support team.”
“When I started with SimScale, I knew from my previous experience how simulations are structured and work, but I had forgotten some details over the years. The great tutorials, documentation, and personal conversations with support have brought me up to date within 2 months of using SimScale. I am now well versed and use SimScale even with smaller problems to confirm my pre-calculations and to quickly compare design studies.”
SimScale is the world’s first cloud-native SaaS engineering simulation platform, giving engineers and designers immediate access to digital prototyping early in the design stage, throughout the entire R&D cycle, and across the entire enterprise. By providing instant access to a single fluid, thermal, and structural simulation tool built on the latest cloud computing technology, SimScale has moved high-fidelity physics simulation technology from a complex and cost-prohibitive desktop application to a user-friendly web application, accessible to any designer and engineer in the world.
