Centrifugal pump curve generation using CFD

This tutorial project aims to showcase how to set up and run a simulation for a pump geometry. The subsonic meshing tool was used with coarse meshing.

Fluids interaction analysis for HKT under submerged and partial merged in to flowing water.

The purpose of the project is to simulate the diffuser-augmented micro hydrokinetic turbine and investigate power and thrust force over its operating range.  The hydrokinetic turbine is a low head turbine design which harnesses the kinetic energy of flowing water to generate power which could be used to drive generator or hydraulic pump.

This project  involves meshing a single-Shaft Turbofan Engine, and then simulating its' operation when facing an axial airflow of 150 m/s, while rotating with a velocity of 940 rad/sec (9000 rpm) . A Fan is used to bypass a large amount of air in the inside of the engine. For this case the typical Compressor, Combustion chamber and Turbine Stator were omitted, and only the Fan, Shaft, Shell and Turbine rotor were meshed and examined, in order to restrain the meshing requirements for complex, time consuming meshing and simulation.  A steady state incompressible flow simulation is executed to visualize the air flow through the components of the Turbofan, as well as the pressure and U magnitude distribution on the blades of the Fan and Turbine.

As a follow-up case for the  TurboFan engine case: https://www.simscale.com/projects/fsite/new_jet/, this project extends the study by using a compressible flow simulation. Ap project which analyses and improves a basic industrial blower system, the system is designed to extract a space in a working environment.

The objectives are to sequentially optimise the impeller and case design using the results of the previous iterations and to then gain the performance curves and understand how cavitation might affect the design.
