Shelf loading example The aim is to design a shelf that can withstand certain amount of load. Failure in this case can be assessed by either: (1.) Assessing the maximum stresses developed on the plastic shelf versus different loading conditions (2.) Checking whether shelf bending might lead large deformations such that the shelf might fall off the mounts
