1.	Keeping the hand in a comfortable position to ensure proper bone healing and alignment
2.	Massage and stimulate nerve endings
3.	Improved circulation, stimulating blood vessels to ensure proper flow of blood to injured area
4.	Reducing swelling and inflammation to alleviate pain and discomfort
5.	Stimulating muscles to prevent muscle atrophy, joint stiffness and other complications
