CFD simulation of Natural Ventilation in Merchiston Campus
About this project
the goal of this project is to analyse the effectiveness of adaptive natural ventilation strategies in office buildings by simulating airflow patterns, CO2 dispersion and thermal comfort under different ventilation scenarios. Simulation type is Incompressible Flow (CFD) Simulation to study airflow distribution and pollutant transport within the office building. The simulation will model different ventilation setups, including window configurations, external wind conditions and occupant generated CO2 levels. Project Details: Office building in Merchiston Campus of ENU. Key parameters are: Air velocity, temperature distribution CO2 concentration. Ventilation strategies: evaluating different window openings and air exchange rates to determine optimal configurations for adaptive ventilation. Outcome: To identify the best natural ventilation strategy to enhance IAQ and occupant comfort while minimizing energy use
