Hey @santosh_b,
Changing the scale is definitely possible. Just give a click on the scale bar and you will be able to customize it (not only range but also some other things):
Now about safety factor. Isnât it more of a concept than something you would show in an image?
If I recall correctly, the safety factor is given by the strength of the material divided by the maximum stress in the part. If you really want to âchange the scale valuesâ so they show the safety factor instead of von Mises stress, then ParaViewâs calculator function should be able to handle that . Just remember that each material has its own strength.

Good tip to do this on the platform!
If you post-process your simulation offline with Paraview I would use the calculator fiter and use a formula for the factor of safety (FOS) like

Thankyou soo much
I would want to ask something basic.
What is the âmaximum von-misesâ actually defined? (I mean once itâs scaled on scale bar)
Does it depend on the material used? If so, what âmaterial specificationsâ should I consider?
Best regards,
Hi,
Once the solution is loaded, you get the maximum scale set by default. To check if your material is not sustaining the load, you can set the maximum range to be the yield stress.
Now all the regions above this yield stress should be displayed red and you can predict the failure prone region.
You can do the same for the material used in the simulation. Note: Yield stress depends on the materials.
Cheers!!
