  • It’s Women’s Wednesday at SimScale: Get to Know Elisabetta

    Lisa Widmann
BlogLife At SimScaleIt’s Women’s Wednesday at SimScale: Get to Know Elisabetta

It is Women’s Wednesday again at SimScale and in today’s post, we would like to introduce Elisabetta, who is a CAD and Meshing Software Developer and joined our team almost 2 years ago.

Elisabetta, what do you do at SimScale?

I’m a Software Developer in the CAD team. I work on SimScale’s CAD kernel, mostly creating new functionalities and hunting bugs to make sure they don’t hunt users.

    What is your background?

I grew up in Pescara, a small city in Italy, but I’ve been living in Milan for 7 years. I enjoy living in big cities and, after my master’s degree, I decided to move to Munich to join SimScale.

    What brought you to SimScale?

Two really simple things: I wanted to work on something challenging and interesting and I wanted to meet people from different cultures and backgrounds.

What has been your biggest accomplishment at SimScale?

Being able to build complex algorithms (that actually seem to work)!

    What are you proud of?

I’m really proud of the final product we’re building. It’s amazing how my work seems so little if we compare it with all the things that are going on and yet how impactful it might be.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Definitely, to trust myself more and, at the same time, allow myself to fail. I’m hyper-critical when it comes to judging an idea, especially if it’s mine.

    What excites you?

Traveling, (rarely) winning at board games, and food food food —of course.

What do people value about you?

I think I’m a chill and empathetic person. I like to understand emotions, or at least try to, and this is part of the reason I love horror books. On the other hand, I really don’t like drama in my life. There’s just something about it that doesn’t get me excited.

    Thank you for sharing, Elisabetta!
