Improving dam capacity using a dredger to remove sediment and prevent environmental pollution during the recovery process

About this project

The goal is to design a dredger that will remove excess sediment build-up. This dredger has a cutter head that separates sediment from the waterbed and is drawn into the pump through the suction pipe. This pipe is housed on a ladder that is controlled by the hydraulic cylinder. A simulation and stress analysis will be done on the hydraulic cylinder which carries most the load of the ladder.
